Summer is coming to an end and school is back in session in three weeks!

If you have NOT opened your FOCUS account and have NOT clicked the green enroll now button, you must do so NOW!
If your child is not enrolled for the 2026-27 school year, a teacher will not be assigned to them.

Meet the Teacher day is scheduled from 8:30 - 11:30 on Thursday, August 6th.

Times will be by Last Name (follow your youngest child's time block). To eliminate hallway congestion please adhere to the times listed below.

A –F , 8:30 – 9:30
G – N, 9:30 – 10:30
O – Z, 10:30 – 11:30

Supplies may be brought to school on this day, and  the school nurse will be available to check in medications as well.

Early Release Days are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. Dismissal is at 1:30 each of these days. The last day of school is Friday, May 22nd. Have a great summer!

The Croton community is fortunate to have Dora Bertini serving as its guidance counselor. Her dedication, consistency, and instructional skills support students’ overall well-being while helping them build meaningful connections between school, community, and the real world. Through her teaching and guidance, students develop lifelong skills that prepare them for future success, and the learners she works with grow into a supportive and thriving community under her facilitation.

Mrs. Bertini provides essential crisis intervention services, supporting students through challenging circumstances such as mental health concerns, safety issues, and other personal crises, while coordinating follow-up services when needed. Her presence extends throughout the campus and broader community through classroom activities, school events, supervisory roles, and partnerships with outside agencies.

Mrs. Bertini collaborates closely with parents, teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure that appropriate interventions are in place, student progress is carefully monitored, communication remains open, and student needs stay at the center of every decision. These collaborative efforts also provide valuable opportunities for mentoring, professional growth, and positive role modeling across the school community.

Known for her warm demeanor and positive spirit, Mrs. Bertini brings contagious enthusiasm and genuine kindness to every interaction. She consistently offers encouragement, extends compassion to those around her, and generously gives of her time to support members of the community in need. Through strong relationships with staff and families, Mrs. Bertini fosters trust and open communication.

Is your child missing a jacket? Please look around your house and check because chances are it's in the enormous collection of our Lost and Found items. Encourage your child to stop by the solarium and look for that missing jacket or sweater this week.

New for 2026-2027 school year! VPK Enrollment for Brevard Public Schools begins January 5th and ends January 21st. You can get a head start on the process by visiting the Florida Early Learning Family Portal and applying for your child's VPK certificate of eligibility as early as January 1st.

We are pleased to share that our 2025-2026 School Improvement Plan was officially approved by the School Board on September 9, 2025. This plan outlines our priorities and strategies for strengthening academic achievement, enhancing instruction, and improving the overall school experience for all students. The approved plan is available for your review on our school website at the bottom of the “Welcome” page ( https://www.brevardschools.org/o/cres/page/welcome ). There is a printed copy in the Parent Involvement notebook in the front office and printed copies can be made available upon request. Croton's Parent and Family Engagement Plan has been completed and may be viewed on our website by clicking the "Parents and Students" tab, then clicking "Parents", then "Important Documents" at the top of the page. A copy of both the District's and Croton's Parent and Family Engagement Plans may be found in the Parent Notebook located in the front office. Translated versions of Croton's plan are in the notebook and on our website. To receive a copy of either plan, please contact the front office. A summary document of Croton’s plan will be coming home with students this month.

VPK Open Enrollment is happening from April 14th through April 24th. Apply for your Certificate from the Early Learning Coalition, ELC, today! https://elcbrevard.org/ Stop by your home school with your ELC certificate, your child's shot records, physical, birth certificate. and two proofs of residence. Kindergarten Enrollment March 24th - 28th for children who are NEW to BPS and who will be five years old on or before September 1st and all children who will be six years old by February 1st. Current BPS Pre-K students will not enroll for kindergarten until re-enrollment is open for all BPS students in July.
